Our District #5 East Washington Schoolhouse (1849 — 1937) is one of the most intact rural schoolhouses left in New Hampshire, filled with original desks, books, maps and many other items used by teachers and students from Washington's past. Located at 2570 East Washington Road, Washington, NH 03280, it is opened Saturdays from 1p.m. to 3p.m. from July through Labor Day.

These wood and iron student desks have been in place at our District #5 One-Room Schoolhouse since 1893!
Even though our 3 buildings are only open Saturdays July through Labor Day, the Washington NH Historical Society remains available to you in different ways all year round. We hold meeting on the second Monday of each month (except December). May through October meetings are "in person." November, and January through April meetings are via ZOOM.
